Christopher Guest turns his satirical mockumentary eye on the film industry, following the fortunes of a small independent drama that has attracted 'Oscar buzz'. Fittingly, Guest plays the director, and is surrounded by his usual uber-talented gaggle of improvising actors, including Harry Shearer, Michael McKean, Bob Balaban, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara and notable addition to the pack, Ricky Gervais.
