Warm Spring

Directed by Wulan Tana this poignant drama is the tale of young orphan Xiao Hua, who after fleeing the clutches of an abusive foster parent, finds a safe haven in the home of a kindly old gentleman who vows to give her everything he has to afford her a better life. But in the face of poor resources, disapproving neighbours and a jealous son and daughter-in-law, the man's good intentions meet with more resistance than he expected.
