The Blue Umbrella

Set in the idyllic region of Himachal Pradesh in India's northwest, this enchanting family film centres around Binya, a young girl who finds a blue umbrella left behind by Japanese tourists. It becomes the envy of her small village and several unscrupulous characters covet it enough to plot ways of having it for themselves. Naturally Binya is distraught when one fine day, she discovers her precious umbrella is missing in this richly nuanced fairytale for all ages. Based on the novella by Ruskin Bond who also collaborated on the screenplay.
