In this charming comedy, nine year old Paco believes his absent father is a Spanish pilot. He spends his days getting into trouble and his nights learning Spanish hoping one day he will be able to practice it with his dad. One night Ernesto (Demian Bichir), a Colombian pilot, crashes his plane in the small Irish village where Paco and his mother live. Paco is called up as the sole Spanish speaker in town and becomes his translator. He manages to rewrite Ernesto's stories and turns him into a hero, motivating the entire town to come together to repair the plane and build a runway to ensure him a safe return home. Inspired by true events that happened outside Mallow in 1983, and captured the imagination of the nation.
