A World Without Thieves

Bo (Andy Lau) and Li (Rene Liu) play a pair of expert grifters who have just amassed a large wad of cash, prompting Li to say she wants out of the biz. As Bo and Li feud about their future, they encounter the unkindly-named Dumbo, a country hick who believes humans are inherently good and noone would steal from him. Funny that. Li takes him under her wing to protect him from the innumerable thieves who are ready to prove his theory wrong. Highly entertaining fare, nominated for Best Film at Hong Kong's 2005 Golden Horse Awards, and based on the novel by Zhao Benfu.
