Blind Shaft

This gritty, guerrilla-style drama centers on two con men who set out to strike a blow against the spirit-crushing coal mining industry of Northwestern China. Travelling from mine to mine they remorselessly murder workers and then pose as their family members to collect a payoff. But the illegal operation could come crashing down when one of them begins to suffer a crisis of conscience. Winner of the Silver Bear at the 2003 Berlin Film Festival.
