Acclaimed kiwi helmer Niki Caro went to Minnesota for this fictionalised account of the most famous sexual harrassment case in history. Charlize Theron is inspired as the young '80s mother who escaped an abusive marriage and sought a living in the iron mines of her hometown. However, many of the men are uncomfortable working with women and conditions for her soon become untenable. An engrossing, hard-hitting drama about human rights and a national controversey. Also stars Frances McDormand, Sissy Spacek, Woody Harrelson and Sean Bean.
