Rumpole of the Bailey: Series 1

Leo McKern stars as 'the Old Bailey hack' Rumpole, in his best-known and best-loved role. The portly Rumpole refuses to prosecute in the cases he accepts - he will only defend clients. Although the tone of much of the series is comic, the courtroom scenes are often as gripping as any thriller. Contains all 6 episodes from Series 1: "Rumpole and the Younger Generation", "Rumpole and the Alternative Society", "Rumpole and the Honourable Member", "Rumpole and the Married Lady", "Rumpole and the Learned Friends" and "Rumpole and the Heavy Brigade".
