Prague

Christoffer (Mads Mikkelson) and Maja (Stine Stengade) are facing the end of their 15-year relationship. En route to pick up his father's mortal remains in Prague, Christoffer learns from his wife that she is in love with someone else and wants a divorce. Mikkelson is terrific as the stone-faced man under pressure, but between the marital tension, the bitter memories of his dead dad, and the culturally pragmatic Czechs, something's got to give. A searing drama with an undercurrent of characteristically dark Danish humour, this won several Danish Bodil Awards, including Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Film.
