The Wife

Actor/writer/director Tom Noonan and Julie Hagerty star as Jack and Rita, a couple trapped in a fragile marriage who share their lives and professions as psychotherapists in a remote Vermont farm house. As the couple settles down in their New Age paradise for an intimate dinner, Jack's patient, Cosmo (Wallace Shawn) drops in for an unexpected visit with his quasi-trashy and outrageously candid wife, Arlie (Karen Young). What follows is a delirious night of shattering revelations in this penetrating and witty meditation on the age of therapy and the traumas of modern relationships.
