Big Man Japan
Irresistably hilarious mockumentary about a sad-sack 40-something who is carrying on the family tradition of turning into a superhero, when the need arises, to defend Tokyo against giant interstellar invaders. Not that the population seem to appreciate it. Plagued by everything from a greedy agent to an unsupportive family, Dai Sato is also an outcast in the very society he protects. Hitoshi Matsumoto directs and stars in this dry and wildly inventive comedy that is not to be missed.
