Towelhead

Aka 'Nothing Is Private'. Writer Alan Ball ('American Beauty', 'Six Feet Under') makes his directorial debut with this controversial adaptation of Alicia Erian's novel about teen Arab-American Jasira. Sent to live with her strict Lebanese father after suffering abuse at the hands of her mother's boyfriend, Jasira struggles to find her place amongst the racism and hypocrisy around her. Confronting, thought-provoking, and seeded with Ball's characteristic black humour, this is a highly-charged drama with a fine cast that includes Aaron Eckhart, Toni Collette, Maria Bello and astonishing newcomer Summer Bishil.
