Vicky Cristina Barcelona

Set in the titular Spanish city, Woody Allen's romantic drama features the new Allen favourite Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall as American tourists who fall for the same hot-blooded artist (Javier Bardem). Meanwhile his tempestuous ex (Penelope Cruz) is about to come back on the scene to complicate things further. A tragi-comic dissection of the premise that living a responsible life can be unfulfilling, but following the whims of the heart can be downright destructive. Cruz won both an Oscar and a BAFTA for her supporting role.
