The Inglorious Bastards ( Quel Maledetto Treno Blindato )

Inspiration for Quentin Tarantino's 2009 film in name and genre only, this 'macaroni combat' film is set in WWII Europe as a group of American soldiers are in the process of being shipped off to military prison for various infractions. When a German attack hits the convoy, five of the prisoners escape and decide to head for Switzerland, but on the way they end up volunteering for a daring mission. With help from the French resistance they must sneak onto the most heavily guarded train in German territory, steal a precious piece of Nazi hardware, and bring it back to the Allies without getting arrested again by their own side. Raucous tongue-in-cheek actioner stars Fred Williamson, and was released in the U.S. with the tag-line "If you're a kraut, he'll take you out!".
