By Brakhage: An Anthology

Artist and filmmaker Stan Brakhage has made nearly 400 films over the past 50 years, never mainstream and always fascinating. Brakhage turns his camera on real life and experience, filming birth, sex, even an autopsy, as well as working with film in new and inventive ways that have forever influenced movie-makers worldwide. He pioneered making images on the film itself, produced works of staggering beauty and arresting, unflinching truth, and these are 26 of his best.
