In 1967, at the age of 68, Invercargill-born Burt Munro broke the land speed record on the salt flats of Utah, fulfilling a life-long dream and setting a new world record that is still unbroken to this day. Kiwi filmmaker Roger Donaldson, who made a documentary about Munro in 1972, came home to make this inspiring and lovingly crafted tribute with Sir Anthony Hopkins perfectly cast as the man who, in the face of doubt and derision, refused to give up his passion.
