The Secret of Kells
There is huge excitement at the monastery in Kells when the famous illuminator, Brother Aidan of Iona, arrives with his cat Pangur Ban. The orphaned twelve-year-old monk, Brendan, wants to help Aidan with an ancient but unfinished book, brimming with secret wisdom and powers. To help complete the magical book, Brendan has to overcome his deepest fears on a dangerous quest where he encounters faeries, monsters, Vikings and more! This Oscar-nominated film (Best Animated Feature 2009) brings to life the fictionalised story of Brendan and his part in the completion of one of the world's most famous and treasured books, The Book of Kells.
