The Best of Country Calendar 2009

New Zealand's longest running TV show, "Country Calendar", returns for the best of the 2009 series. There's the smallest dairying operation in New Zealand - two cows, yes just two, but still producing and selling cheese; a group of Gisborne women who have banded together to grow sweet peas for export to Britain and Lyn of Taranaki who's got guts - taking on a share-milking job single-handed. There's a muster on Mt White Station, a fishing story for the sea lovers and for the adventure lovers, a group of possum hunters turning fur into a very profitable business. There's growing interest in alternative farming methods, so included is a hill country farmer who's converted his farm to organics, a winery on the shores of Lake Wanaka where alternative methods have been taken one stage further, and finally a couple who farm free-range 'chooks' in North Auckland ... thousands of them!
