Journeys Across Latitude 45 Degrees South

Across Central Otago runs Latitude 45 degrees South - the midway point between the South Pole and the Equator. Twenty five years ago TVNZ presenter Peter Hayden made a unique four-part television documentary that followed his journey along this line, traversing the South Island coast to coast, and digging into the history of the land and people. See landscapes untouched by human hand and those altered forever by miners, Maori tribes and European settlers. This is one man's view of his country - twenty-five years ago.
