25 years ago, Andrei Filipov was a prodigy - once the celebrated conductor of the Bolshoi Orchestra, the greatest orchestra in Russia. Today he works as a cleaner at the Bolshoi, after being fired during the communist era when he refused to expel Jewish musicians. When Andrei finds an urgent invitation for the Bolshoi to play a concert at the Theatre de Chatelet in Paris in two weeks time as a last minute replacement, he conceives a crazy notion: he'll round up his old musician buddies, a motley bunch of Muscovites scraping together a living as cab drivers, removal men and flea market traders, and they'll go to Paris to play one last concert as the Bolshoi Orchestra. They'll defy destiny and take their revenge... but will they make it?
