A whirlwind ensemble comedy/drama set in the buzzing theatre district of Paris, where fresh-faced waitress Jessica (Cecile de France) dreams of fame and glamour. Manwhile famous TV actress Catherine (Valerie Lemercier) is courting American director Sydney Pollack, in town casting for his new movie about Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Satre; a free-spirited classical pianist is anxious about the six years' worth of concerts his wife has booked up; a self-made businessman tries to make amends with his embittered and estranged son and a cheerful concierge prepares to hang up her epaulettes for good. Their paths will cross at Jessica's cafe in this delightfully French and Altman-esque comedy-romance.
