La Tragedia de Macario

Determined to provide his wife with a better life, Macario (Rogelio Ramos) leaves his Mexican village to find work in the United States. This drama follows the hopeful young man and a friend as they head north on a journey that ultimately takes a tragic turn. Shot on a budget of around $8000 and infused with magical realism, director Pablo Veliz's moving tale of faith, resolve and loss is based in part on true events that occurred in 2003 in Victoria, Texas.
