Mrs Carey's Concert

An exhilarating documentary about Karen Carey, the Music Director at a Sydney Girl's High School, who puts on a concert every two years at the Sydney Opera House, insisting on a demanding repertoire and the participation of all 1,200 girls in the school. Her greatest challenge is firing up the unwilling, and her antagonist is 16-year-old Iris Shi. Waging open warfare against authority, the charismatic Iris is the focal point of student resistance to Careys Opera House ambitions. Meanwhile, Emily Sun is Careys star musician and a different sort of headache  a gifted but troubled teenager.
