Actor Paddy Considine's powerful and affecting directorial debut has been hailed as one of the best British films of the year. It follows the story of two lonely, damaged people brought together by circumstance. A riveting look at the relationship between an unemployed alcoholic (Peter Mullan) and the charity worker (Olivia Colman) who offers him compassion and help with his angry nature. When the man learns that his new friend suffers at the hands of an abusive husband (Eddie Marsan), it becomes his turn to act as a saviour. Co-stars Paul Popplewell, Sian Breckin.
