The Grand Seduction

In a Newfoundland fishing village, the arrival of a big-city doctor (Taylor Kitsch) is greeted with excitement by the locals, who hope he can be convinced into staying because an oil company refuses to construct a new factory unless a full-time physician is in residence. The mayor (Brendan Gleeson) makes an all-out push to convince the doctor to stay...but his courting soon involves corruption. Edgy Canadian comedy is the English language remake of the French-Canadian "Seducing Doctor Lewis".
