Paths of Glory ( Blu-ray )

Stanley Kubrick gives us a scathing indictment against the staff-officer mentality that cares about promotions more than the men who make those promotions possible. Kirk Douglas plays a compassionate French officer in World War I who must lead his men against insurmountable enemy positions, and then must defend three of them against charges of cowardice when the battle is lost. A truly great anti-war movie.
