The Hitcher
Rutger Hauer is evil personified in this taut thriller about a young man who is terrorized by a maniacal hitchhiker. Howell, in what may easily be his best role to date, is the innocent driver whose trek across Nevada turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse. Filled with unrelenting suspense and seething with homoerotic imagery, this film, not for the faint of heart, will electrify fans of the genre. Remade in 2007.
