The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (Blu-ray)

A feast (in more ways than one) for followers of writer/director Peter Greenaway's work. Set around a high-class English restaurant, it involves the goings on with restaurant owner/gangster (Michael Gambon), his wife (Helen Mirren), her lover (Alan Howard) and the head chef (Richard Bohringer). Visually sumptuous film has all the trademarks of Greenaway's earlier films, but with this one there is no holding back and it becomes a full-on attack of the senses. Michael Gambon gives an incredible performance.
