The Killing of a Chinese Bookie

Cosmo Vitelli (Ben Gazzara) owns a strip joint; he loves his girls and he loves his job. Trouble is, however, he also loves to gamble and this has resulted in a huge and ever-increasing debt to the mob. So when he is offered the chance to clear his debt in one fell swoop he jumps at it - until he discovers that the job he must carry out is the murder of a man known only as 'The Chinese Bookie'. An involving look at the world of small-time gangsters, written and directed by the legendary independent filmmaker John Cassavetes.
