Taxi Driver
A disturbingly brutal depiction of a lonely, unstable New York City cab driver (Robert De Niro) who stalks a presidential candidate, then turns his violent obsessions towards the ruthless pimp of a 12-year-old prostitute (Jodie Foster) with whom he has struck up an unlikely friendship. Martin Scorsese directs Paul Schrader's script; Cybill Shepherd, Harvey Keitel, Peter Boyle co-star. Winner of Best Picture (Palme d'Or) at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival.
