Stephen King's The Shining

This 'more faithful' 4 1/2 hour mini-series adaptation of Stephen King's novel had the author's seal of approval. He even has a cameo as the band conductor at the isolated Overlook Hotel in the Rocky Mountains, home of many strange goings-on. The hotel where it is filmed (The Stanley Hotel) is the actual hotel that inspired King to write the book after he booked an end-of-season vacation there. Stars Steve Weber as Jack and Rebecca De Mornay as his unfortunate wife.
