The Shining

Stanley Kubrick's great thriller, based on Stephen King's novel, with Jack Nicholson going slowly mad in a remote deserted hotel, terrorising his wife (Shelley Duvall) and their little boy, who seems to have strange powers of ESP. To get his cast in the right mood, Kubrick had them all watch 'Eraserhead' prior to filming (except the young boy, Danny Lloyd, who didn't even know he was shooting a horror movie).
