The Taking of Pelham One Two Three

First-rate thriller in which Robert Shaw heads a four-man gang who hijack a New York City subway car at rush hour and demand one million dollars in ransom - to be delivered in one hour! Walter Matthau is the transit inspector on the case, Martin Balsam is one of the gang members, and Shaw is at his malevolent best as the leader. Director Quentin Tarantino later reused the idea of assigning the gang colour codes in his debut feature, "Reservoir Dogs". Remade for TV in 1998 and again for theatres in 2009.
