Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown
A popular actress (perennial Almodovar favourite, Carmen Maura) is driven to distraction when her lover leaves for another woman. She's certain she can talk him around if only she can speak directly to him and not his answering machine. A comedy of errors ensues that involve a drugged pitcher of gazpacho, Shiite terrorists and a mental patient who left the asylum too soon. Nominated for a Bafta and an Oscar for Best Foreign Film, look out for a very young Antonio Banderas.
