The Yakuza

A superb blending of the American gangster, Japanese Samurai, blazing guns and swinging swords combine in this thrilling actioner about a former American soldier (Robert Mitchum) commissioned by an old friend to travel to Japan to rescue his daughter from the violent Yakuza gangsters. Enlisting the aid of a former wartime nemesis (Ken Takakura) who owes him a debt, Mitchum comes up with a daring plot to save the girl. Brian Keith co-stars; Sydney Pollack directs from a screenplay by Paul Schrader and Robert Towne.
