Blue Velvet

The most talked about film of the '80s, David Lynch's controversial, surreal mystery is set amid the manicured lawns of small town America where a world of violence, betrayal and perversion lurks underneath. The hero finds a severed ear whose trail leads him to a detective's daughter, and a mesmerizing beauty with a terrible secret. Dennis Hopper is great as the sadistic villain.
