Yangtse Incident: The Story of H.M.S. Amethyst

The Royal Navy Frigate H.M.S. Amethyst (whilst on a peaceful mission) comes under fire and is run aground up the Yangtse River. After rescue attempts fail, the ship's commander decides on one final course of action: run a 140 mile gauntlet of enemy artillery, shore batteries and forts in a daring bid for freedom. This incredible true story shows the stiff-upper-lip resolve of the British under duress and the daring heroism of many of the Allied fighters. Starring Richard Todd, William Hartnell, Akim Tamiroff and Keye Luke.
