No Man's Land

Set at the height of the Bosnian Civil War in 1993, writer/director Danis Tanovic's Oscar-winning dark comedy boils the absurdity of warfare down to its most basic form. A Croatian soldier and his Serbian counterpart are trapped in a trench with a wounded Croat who, if he moves, will set off a landmine and kill all three men. As UN officals and news reporters gather around the trench, the rival soldiers take turns training a gun on each other and debating which side started the conflict. Branko Djuric and Rene Bitorajac star.
