Waking Life
Director Richard Linklater's innovative cartoon odyssey uses live-action footage overlaid with matching computer animation to create an experience as colourful and multi-layered as its somnambular setting. As a dreaming protagonist (Wiley Wiggins) goes from one ethereal encounter to another, friends and strangers share with him their thoughts on reality, love, life and the afterlife. Among the cast are Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy (reprising their "Before Sunrise" roles), filmmaker Steven Soderbergh and "Speed" Levitch.
