Holocaust (miniseries)
The time is the decade spanning the turbulent years of 1935 to 1945. Two families living in Nazi Germany struggle to survive amid the chaos and horror of war. In the Weiss household, Inga (Meryl Streep) watches helplessly as her family is split apart and scattered across the war-torn country. Choosing a different path to survival, the Dorf family joins the German war effort as Erik Dorf (Michael Moriarty) becomes a part of Hitler's dreaded SS. Winner of 8 Emmy awards.
