The Baby Burlesques / The Little Princess

A Shirley Temple DVD double feature. 'The Baby Burlesques' (1932) - Featured here are four of Shirley's first performances when, aged between four and six, she appeared in a series of comedy shorts known as 'The Baby Burlesques'. These were hilarious, and at the time controversial, one-reelers that satirised adult drama. They remain an utterly charming record of her early career. 'The Little Princess' (1939) - A charming story set in Victorian England that was Shirley's first feature in Technicolor. When her widowed father goes off to war, Shirley is placed in a strict boarding school. Upon the report of his death, the cruel schoolmistress relegates Shirley to being a servant...
