The Rookie
In this inspiring true story, Dennis Quaid is Jim Morris, a Texas science teacher whose once-promising baseball career was curtailed because of a shoulder injury. Morris coaches his high school's baseball team, but longs for a shot playing pro ball. Eventually, he gets it, leaving wife Rachel Griffiths and three children home to pitch for Tampa Bay's minor league system, but will he be called up to the big leagues? Also starring Jay Hernandez and Brian Cox.
