Based on a true story, this inspiring drama is set in Anderson, South Carolina, in the 1970s and centres on the relationship between high school football coach Harold Jones (Ed Harris) and James "Radio" Kennedy (Cuba Gooding, Jr.), a shy, mentally challenged young man. Given a chance by Jones to perform simple tasks for the team, Radio becomes the squad's manager and unofficial team mascot, but problems arise when the town's influential banker and a school administrator press to have him removed from school grounds. Debra Winger, Alfre Woodard, Chris Mulkey also star.
