Rain Man

It's a road movie about two brothers who didn't know the other existed until fate brought them together. Similaraties to the movie 'Twins' with Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger end there, this is a sensitive and strongly performed film that went home with 4 Oscars: Best Actor for Hoffman as Cruise's savant brother, Best Director, Best Screenplay and the ultimate prize, Best Picture. Hoffman's character was loosely based on real-life savant, Kim Peek, born in 1952, whom 'Rain Man' writer Barry Morrow first met in 1986.
