Powerful true-life drama chronicles the troubled relationship between mentally unstable American writer Sylvia Plath (Gwyneth Paltrow) and her husband, British poet Ted Hughes (Daniel Craig). The film follows their courtship and marriage; the troubles stemming from Hughes' affairs and Plath's emotional problems; the ups and downs of their careers; and her eventual suicide at age 30.
