Iris

This compassionate true-life story centres on Iris Murdoch, the gifted British novelist and philosopher, whose latter years were ravaged by Alzheimer's disease. The film intersperses the struggles faced by the older afflicted Murdoch (Judi Dench) and husband John Bayley (Best Supporting Actor Oscar-winner Jim Broadbent) with a look at the couples' happier, early days when the free-spirited Iris (Kate Winslet) and scholarly John (Hugh Bonneville) first met and fell in love.
