Zatoichi 24: In Desperation

Directed by the actor who plays Zatoichi, this is possibly the darkest and most sombre of the series; the yakuza are meaner and the body count is higher. After the wandering samurai encounters an old woman on a bridge, the woman falls to her death. Zatoichi blames himself and becomes obsessed with freeing the woman's daughter from her geisha life - naturally a show-down with the local mobsters is on the cards.
