Mad Hot Ballroom

Each year the New York Public School system sponsors a dance competition for 10 and 11 year olds who have learned traditional ballroom dances like the fox-trot, rumba and tango. Focusing on the entrants from three very different city schools this infectious and charming documentary charts their progress while examining the need for creativity in urban environments and witnessing their first tentative 'tweenage' steps toward the opposite sex. 'Spellbound' meets 'Strictly Ballroom'.
