Good Night, and Good Luck.

George Clooney's second outing as a director is both an intelligent homage to iconic American broadcaster Edward R Murrow (convincingly portrayed by David Strathairn) and a commentary on the political power of the media. In 1953 Murrow took on Commie-bashing Senator Joe McCarthy in a debate now seen as instrumental in the politician's downfall and a direct forerunner to the infamous Nixon/Kennedy debate a few years later. Shot in black and white with a stellar cast that includes Clooney, Robert Downey Jr, Patricia Clarkson and Jeff Daniels.
