Prison Break: Season 1
Taking on a well-used subject as the title suggests, this series provided an astoundingly fresh and entertaining season of television. When Lincoln Scofield is wrongfully imprisoned and sentenced to death, his brother Michael also gets himself incarcerated with a torso full of blueprints to free them both, while Lincoln's lawyer girlfriend (hounded by Secret Service agents) works on the outside to right the wrong. Inventive plot lines and a commited (and not yet over-exposed) cast make this a highlight of contemporary TV thrillers. Filmed in Joliet Prison, in the cell that once housed John Wayne Gacy.
